The 6820 is an addressable fire detection panel (FACP) that can be configured to reach up to 1,110 points and connect up to 17 panels on a single communication path. It features a built-in Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) that supports 159 detectors and 159 System Sensor® (SK) modules or 127 Hochiki® devices (SD).
To increase point capacity, additional 6815 SLC loop expanders can be added for SK devices or the 5815XL expander for SD devices, increasing to the maximum capacity of 1,110 points for SK devices and 635 points for SD devices.

A common communication and annunciation path for up to 17 panels can be connected via copper or fiber optics. A designated panel is configured as the communicator for the other panels within the network. It also has a dual-line POT telephone communicator and an IP communicator, and a cellular communicator can be installed optionally.

The 6820 can be enhanced using modules such as the 6860 remote annunciator, which has four programmable function keys that help automate tasks and reduce time spent at the panel.

Compatibility with SWIFT® wireless devices provides intelligent detection options through a Class A mesh network. This is ideal for locations where wiring is not permitted, or for simple installation of a new fire detection system.
SWIFT devices can be combined with other wired devices compatible with the 6820. SWIFT devices are only compatible with System Sensor (SK) devices. They are not compatible with Hochiki (SD) devices.

The 6820 also has a Form C trouble relay, and two Form C programmable relays, as well as powerful features such as dirt compensation, pre-trouble and maintenance alert, and calibration trouble alert.
