The tower-mounted lightning rod drop insulator is used to protect tower-mounted equipment such as antennas, video surveillance equipment, radio frequency antennas, etc. from being damaged by an atmospheric discharge.

It provides a separation of 6 to 7 cm between the tower and the drop cable, and can be used to house cables with a maximum gauge of 250 mcm.
