Fixed main unit kit for testing difficult-to-access aspirating smoke systems (ASD), used with the SCORP8000 Wall Controller

Scorpion is the best solution for testing smoke detectors in hard-to-reach installations.

Scorpion allows for testing smoke detectors in elevator shafts, department stores, shopping malls, airports, continuous operations areas such as manufacturing, and restricted-access areas, among others. This allows for fast, accurate, and efficient testing, reducing the costs of testing hard-to-reach smoke detectors, whether in a point detector or a piped aspirating smoke detection (ASD) system.

The Scorpion main unit is a smoke generator that is permanently installed next to a detector and, during testing, generates smoke for a functional test of the device.

The Scorpion system has a built-in transport timer to help assess the ongoing integrity of the ASD system from the end of the pipe to the detector itself. A cleaning function is used to remove smoke from the point detectors and reduce the possibility of repeat alarms, increasing on-site productivity.

Scorpion can be retrofitted into existing systems or installed alongside new ones. Each master unit has a testing capacity of over 240 15-second smoke tests each. Up to eight Scorpion heads can be connected to a single wall-mounted control panel, or for fewer detectors in multiple locations, access points can be used in conjunction with the engineer's controller.

Any reasons why they are necessary?

  • Ensures 100% functional testing of detectors as required by standards.
  • You can test detectors in sensitive or inaccessible areas.
  • No additional access equipment or subcontracted personnel are required.
  • Reduces the risk of falls or accidents for engineers.
  • Reduce testing time by avoiding after-hours visits with direct access to detectors.
