The Macurco 6 and 12 Series detector family requires routine testing and calibration. Each detector comes with a corresponding test/calibration kit for testing and calibrating the detectors in the field. Sensors can become less accurate over time, so a maintenance plan is recommended to ensure the detectors respond appropriately to the presence of gas. A gas calibration is the process of exposing a sensor to a target gas at a specific concentration and then adjusting the gas detector to read that concentration correctly. Macurco recommends testing and calibration at least once a year, but depending on the site and the risk potential of the application, more frequent calibration may be required. Check with local authorities for specific local regulations.
