Forged Knot for 3/16" Stay Cable.
Forged knot for guy wire installations for constant or high load demands.
Complies with FFC 4500 Type 1, class 1 specification.
Recommended torque: 7.5 lb-ft.
Minimum number of knots per joint: 2.
Distance from the neck at which the first knot should be installed: 3-1/4'
Steps to follow for the correct installation of a Staple:
The length required to install dogs in each case will be obtained by multiplying the diameter 25 times up to 1' and 35 times up to 2'.
1. Bend the steel cable to the required length to form the eye. Install the first staple, which should be approximately 10 cm (4 inches) from the dead end of the cable, and secure it with the "U" section. The load line should rest and be held by the saddle of the staple. Place the thimble in the loading position.
2. Install the second staple in the same manner and at the other end, next to the thimble, hold firmly but not yet with the required force.
3. Place the third staple (if applicable) exactly halfway between the other two. All staples must be oriented in the same direction.
4. Apply slight tension, tighten and tighten the nuts gradually and alternately, until the recommended torque is reached.
5. Check each and every staple before performing the first maneuver and subsequently at regular intervals since tension tends to lengthen the cable and consequently decrease its diameter.
NOTE:
The retainer will stretch, and its diameter may change when tensioning begins. It should be inspected periodically and re-tensioned. The recommended torque value is based on clean, dry nuts free of any moisture.
