Implementation with existing copper telephone cables
The VC-231 is also a Long Range Ethernet (LRE) converter, providing an RJ-45 Ethernet port and an RJ-11 telephone jack for VDSL2 connections. Using the optional splitter included with the VC-231 package, the splitter can provide a POTS splitter for sharing an existing POTS telephone line; therefore, replacing existing copper wiring is not required. Simply plug the VC-231 and the optional splitter into an existing RJ-11 telephone jack, and a high-performance VDSL2 network can be connected. The VC-231 is ideal for use as an Ethernet extender to an existing Ethernet network.
