The 6815 is a Signaling Line Expander Circuit (SLC) for use with Honeywell Silent 6000 Series and Farenhyt Black fire detection panels (FACPs) utilizing the System Sensor® (SK/IDP) protocol. The 6815 shares the same functionality as the SLC found built into the Silent Knight 6000 Series and Farenhyt Black fire detection panels and supports the same number of devices as the panels’ SLCs. Additional 6815s support 159 IDP or SK detectors, and 159 IDP or SK modules. The number of 6815 SLCs that can be used within a system is dependent on the maximum point count offered by the panel. They provide powerful versatility for custom configurations in large, complex installations.

The 6815 also supports SWIFT® wireless devices. SWIFT wireless devices communicate with the FACP through a gateway (WSK-WGI/WIDP-WGI) that connects to the SLC using either the SK or IDP protocol. The panel's SLC, or a 6815 loop expander, can be used for this purpose. SWIFT devices can also be combined with wired devices on the same SLC for additional versatility. The result is greater flexibility and design options where wiring is an issue.

The 6815 communicates with the FACP via an RS-485 bus. A green LED on the 6815 indicates good communication. If an addressable device on the 6815 fails, the loop communicates the fault to the FACP and continues operating normally.
