Farenhyt SWIFT® detectors are intelligent (addressable) detectors that provide secure and reliable communication with a Fire Detection Panel (FACP) over a Class A mesh network. Wireless detectors create an opportunity where expensive (concrete walls/ceilings, buried wiring), obtrusive (surface mount conduit), or potentially dangerous (asbestos) solutions are not possible or cannot be implemented using conventional wired devices. Additionally, both wired and wireless devices can coexist on the same FACP providing a wired-wireless solution to increase the potential of the installation.

The SWIFT detection line includes photoelectric, photoelectric + fixed temperature, fixed temperature, and rate-of-rise smoke detectors. The photoelectric detector transmits a digital representation of smoke density via a wireless mesh to a gateway and subsequently to the panel. The photoelectric + fixed temperature detector combines a photoelectric chamber and a 57°C fixed temperature detector. The fixed temperature and rate-of-rise detectors use detectors designed for open area protection within 50 feet of spacing, as approved by UL 521.

All sensors offer addressing via rotary switches and two LEDs. The LEDs are controlled by the panel. Operating modes include red, green, and amber with various flashing or solid patterns. The mesh network within the SWIFT system creates a parent-child relationship with other devices, so each device has at least two communication paths. If one device stops working for any reason, the remaining devices continue to communicate with each other directly or through one or more intermediate devices.
