The PIE-1 is an encoder that converts analog relay outputs to raw ASCII code (Redwall Event Code) for Redwall SIP, Redscan, and Redbeam detectors. It can now connect to all leading VMS platforms to control IP cameras. The PIE-1 supports IEEE802.3 af/at Power over Ethernet (PoE), enabling power supply via a PoE hub or switch. Only a single LAN cable is required to connect the PIE-1 to a PoE hub or switch, reducing installation time and costs.

The Optex PoE IP encoder offers extreme flexibility, allowing the Optex sensor to be easily added to a security network with Milestone-compatible technology. The unit has two RJ45 connectors (one as a network input, one as a pass-through output) and sufficient analog and wired power inputs to integrate with any Optex sensor.

The PIE-1 fits into a standard dual-gang box and acts as a power splitter and Redwall event command encoder to send ASCII alarm commands to the network.
