PLANET's new GSD-604HP provides four 802.3at PoE+ ports to support small-scale home or IP surveillance networks at a lower total cost. With dual 10/100/1000BASE-T uplink ports, the recorded high-definition video streams from the four POE IP cameras can be fed to the GSD-604HP and saved to 4-channel NVR or surveillance system software for comprehensive security monitoring and management of the surveillance system on the LAN or at remote sites via the Internet.

Two Gigabit uplink ports

The GSD-604HP comes with two uplink ports with a transfer rate of 1000 Mbps to ensure high-speed data and video transmission, and a reliable guarantee for the connection between the surveillance system and the outdoor network where the four PoE+ ports can be fully utilized.

Innovative port-based VLAN

The GSD-604HP features a “ port- based VLAN ,” whose ports can be isolated from each other via a DIP switch. This helps prevent broadcast or multicast storms from the IP camera from interfering with each other, fully meeting the requirements of IP surveillance systems and Ethernet projects.

Standard, VLAN, and Extended operating modes

The GSD-604HP provides Standard , VLAN , and Extend operating modes. The GSD-604HP operates as a normal IEEE 802.3at/af PoE switch in Standard operating mode.

VLAN operation mode features port-based VLAN function which can help prevent IP camera broadcast or multicast storm from influencing each other.

In extended operation mode , the GSD-604HP operates per port at 10 Mbps full-duplex operation, but can support 20 watts of PoE power output at a distance of up to 250 meters, overcoming the 100 m limit on UTP Ethernet cable. With this new feature, the GSD-604HP provides an additional solution for 802.3at/af PoE distance extension, saving the cost of Ethernet cable installation. Its VLAN isolation feature isolates ports to prevent broadcast storms and defend against DHCP spoofing in extended operation mode.

The GSD-604HP comes in a compact, desktop-sized metal housing, making it convenient to place. It features a ventilated construction that eliminates the need for a cooling fan, resulting in quiet operation. Furthermore, the GSD-604HP can operate reliably and stably in any environment without compromising performance. Deploying PoE PDs with constant power supply is quick and easy.

Robust protection

The GSD-604HP provides 6kV ESD surge protection to enhance product stability and also protects users' networks from devastating ESD attacks, ensuring that operational flow remains unchanged.

Targeting the increasingly popular IP surveillance applications, the GSD-604HP PoE+ switch is also positioned as a surveillance switch for quick and easy deployment of power-hungry PoE IP cameras . The GSD-604HP supports both 802.3at and 802.3af PoE standards along with 4 x 10/100/1000BASE-T ports with up to 30 watts per RJ45 copper interface and an additional 2 x Gigabit Ethernet TP interfaces supporting high-speed transmission of surveillance images and videos.
