8 Channel to 1 Channel Multiplexer, Passive CWDM

CWDM is a passive MUX/DEMUX unit that allows up to eight fiber links to be combined into one, simplifying and reducing the cost of long-distance fiber installations. At the other location, the combined line is split back up again, so that instead of eight long fiber lines, only one would be needed. Coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) technology offers a solution that will increase the capacity of existing fiber infrastructure by allowing multiple channels/wavelengths over the same fiber cabling and will reduce costs for new fiber optic deployments.

You can use a single fiber-optic cable to create up to eight independent 1.25 Gbps SFP (up to 40 km) or 10 Gbps SFP+ (up to 10 km) links, offering a more cost-effective alternative to installing more fiber or leasing additional fibers. You can even use 1.25 Gbps and 10 Gbps modules at the same time.

The transceivers are connected to the Router or Switch; one must be connected for each CWDM port.
