Fiber SenSys, Inc. (FSI) partners with end-users, manufacturers, and integrators to deliver perimeter security solutions. All Fiber Defender® APUs offer standard relay outputs, with many models offering TCP/IP as a standard interface or as an option. Our basic command and control system, Fiber Commander™, enables high-level IP-based integration with all Fiber Defender® sensors. Additionally, we offer integration with a growing list of manufacturers and their systems.

Characteristics:

  • Two independent zones, each zone up to 500 m of sensor fiber. (1 zone = up to approximately 210 m perimeter; 2 zones = up to approximately 420 m perimeter)

These smart sensors are able to distinguish between real intruders and nuisance alarms that can be triggered by wind, small animals, or environmental conditions. Unlike metallic (coaxial) sensors, fiber optics' advanced detection is unaffected by adverse environmental conditions, including EMI and RFI interference, corrosion, and even lightning during thunderstorms. By having the option of installing all electronic components away from the perimeter, facilities with hazardous requirements can be protected, as fiber optic cable does not contain energy that could cause explosions.
