The DFE100 splice closure is used to facilitate fiber optic cable repairs. Common fiber sizes of 8.1 mm, 5.4 mm, and 5.1 mm rectangular cables and 3.0 mm and 5.1 mm round cables are accommodated with the supplied sealing glands.

It supports a total of 12 fusion splices and 2 mechanical splices, which are securely housed within the IP68 ingress protection enclosure. The DFE100 can be permanently buried or mounted on the side of a building.

If there is not enough excess fiber in a cut to perform fusion, two DFE100 closures can be used to perform the repair.

The DFE100 provides a splice point location within the network building, as well as a demarcation point at the facility.
