Power supply function and DC power backup source

Samlex America's SEC-UL series industrial chargers can be used as both a power source and a backup power source.

Use as a power source:

• When using the charger as a power source, only the load is connected directly to the charger via the negative terminal and one of the three positive terminals. Keep in mind that the load's current consumption must not exceed the charger's capacity.

Use as a backup power source:

• When the charger is used as a backup power source, it is necessary to modify the DIP switch settings on the charger as follows:

• Once the DIP switch settings have been changed, the load must be connected directly to the battery - it is recommended to use a switch between the load and the battery - with the load turned off.
• The charger is then connected to the battery. Once the system is connected, the charger's power supply is connected. The charger will begin to deliver current to the battery depending on its charge status, ensuring that it is charged. In the event of a power failure, the charge will be fed directly from the battery. Once the power returns, the charger will charge the battery again.
