The MGB family consists of small form-factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver modules specifically designed for high-performance, integrated duplex data links over single-mode optical fiber. These transceiver modules are SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) compliant and hot-pluggable. These modules offer easy installation into SFP MSA-compliant ports at any time without disrupting host equipment operation.

SFP transceivers are hot-pluggable and hot-swappable. You can plug and unplug the transceivers into/out of any SFP port without having to power down the switch/media converter.
